Kapa Haka

 On Wednesday we went to kapa haka festival.We went on a bus to the showgrounds to do kapa haka I was kind of nervous but then I realised it wasn't so bad after all.We also got our fake moko on

 It was actually fun our first song we did E te ariki we all bunched up in one group and started sing then the kya said neke atu and we all spreaded out again.Then we started singing u tina after we moved forwards to do the haka.I was in front row I was nervous at first but then it was fine because last year there was a lot more people but it wasn't as much this year. First we did our haka then we did kama te after that we did wainui E 

Then we left the stage and sat down in front of it and waited for the rest of our school to finish.We sang with wai and nui and the song we sang was tu te ra mai and then we finished And headed back to school.

Gordon Walter

Today we did some Gordon Walter art it was very fun.We had to get a rectangle and put a circle at the end of it so it looked like it was combined that is what I tried to do. I made a few shorter than the others so the teacher told us we could add a extra circle at the end of it.Our teacher said that she likes google so I tried to make it look like google but the colors are to bright especially the green dot I got it printed and now it is in a frame now and it might be at the craft fair if you don't know what a craft fair is it is basically a gala.It is this friday I am going but am  probably not going to bye my art because it would be a lot of money.

Inter School Athletics

 Yesterday I went to the inter school athletics.I got in for ball throw and 100 meter sprints.First I had ball throw me and my friend Reef and Cash we had to wait in line for our throw a lot of the people through pretty far but when i through it went so far it got me in first place Cash through further than everyone else except it was a no throw if you do not know what that is it it is when your foot goes over the line and that was what Cash did .Nobody bet so over all i came first.

100 meter. In the 100 meter I was in the second heat the calls was take your marks which is when you come up to the line then it is set you get ready then he clap these two wooden blocks.After the first heat went it was my turn.He did the calls and I ran off it was very tiring I came 1st by about an inch Awapuni came 2nd only just though I got in to the finals He did the calls and every one sprinted of I did okay for a while I nearly go 2nd but I came 3rd or 4th 

New term!!!

 It is a new term and this term we have speech's and athletics and the year six's get to go to camp next week.I wish we get to camp because their going to hastings.I have done most of my speech but I am just finishing it off. For athletics we have to do high jump, long jump, ball throw, 100 meters and 200 meters. My brother is going to camp because he is a year 6. My speech is about henry ford."I am looking forward to this term"

Cross-Country

On monday we had cross country first it was the year six's first my brother came first by quite a lot then 2nd place for year 6 boy was a kid called oliver and then 3rd place angus.Next it was my race the teacher Matua Nic had some blocks and he claped them together and we sprinted for a while then I kept a steady pace. There is a place in the course called the dip it is like a giant hole that you run in.The entire course is 2 km it is tiring but the inter school is a lot more tiring because it is 3 km after all I came 2nd just though I nearly got first. It was fun over all.

Pihitia station

 Last Tuesday we went to Pihitia Station. First, we went to see a cow and how diary things are made with milk like cheese and whip cream and chocolate milk. I patted the cow without getting kicked in the face. The cow was very big. Sophie the person who was showing us the cow gave us a jar of something I am pretty sure it was cream. We had to shake it a lot to make it butter. We did not get to keep it in the end though.

Next we went to a shed where there was a butcher. He cut up a sheep. The meat looked yum some kids decided to go outside because they didn't want to see the meat get cut up. Maybe it was because they were vegetarians, maybe I am not sure. The man had a machine that is like a saw but it is automatic he used it to cut up some meat.

After that we went to weigh some sheep. There were a lot of big ones but some did not weigh as much. We also went outside to look at some sheep in a paddock there were two dogs one was called Cruz and the other one was Boy. Cruz did the barking at the sheep and Boy stared at them if they tried to escape. They had a call and a whistle and they would do their thing. After that we went inside to look at a drone fly around it had a camera and that was hooked up to a tv we saw a person tipped on a quad bike but then my friend who lives at the farm said that it was fake so that gave it away. It was fun.

Ice Cream Sundae

 last thursday when our teacher left sadly but on that day we had shared lunch and made an ice cream sundae it was for an work shop activity so first. we headed to the staff room you probably do not know what that is it just is where the teachers go so first we got the ice cream out from the freezer and got some chocolate sauce and marshmallow since there was no pink wafer. The teacher gave us someone else's instruction to read.It was very yum but it was sad that our teacher left.

The beach

 On Monday and Tuesday we went to the beach it was very fun because we found a shovel in the sand. On the first day and we dug a deep hole and one of my friends made a super good chair by it made from sand.I was walking around looking at other people's creation they were cool.

   Day 2

On Tuesday we went as close to the water as we were aloud to then we made a chungus wall. We had a little pool behind big chungus. we tried to make sure that the water didn't get in to the little pool.It hit once and destroyed the little pool so we just tried to make the big chungus stay alive.

 

Automata

 Yesterday we had to make an automata.Me and my friend's milo and cory we did a mario going up and down.it is very cool I will show a picture at the end if I can.It is fun because you have to make cams and a fowler.You need a box a skewer,hot glue gun,cams and cardboard.first you need to cut the sides of the box pierce a hole through the box and make a circle nad you need ok well it is hard to explain you can just search it up I don't know. It just is fun.Now here is the picture.sadly my friend cory ripped mario in half RIP. 

LTP Update

 This week I went to cardboard nation. On the first day I tried to make a cardboard rocket launcher.It did not work out well So the next day I made a basketball hoop out of pipes and cardboard rim.It was fun as we scrunched a sheet of paper for a ball.Next week I might do the same thing I am not sure.

Math Whizz

 

This is called math whizz we started it last week.You have to do math questions like algorithm or sorting out thing we do it for twenty to thirty minutes every day I show's how long you have done it right now i'm an apprentice on this you start as a rookie.The highest point superstar.you earn credits and you can by thing like a house or pet I have a dog and I am trying to get a cheetah. I would recommend getting it all you need is took get a username from your teacher.At the start you are aloud to choose out of jungle or space as you can see I choose space.

Rugby

The game of rugby on friday was awesome we faced manutuke it was hard but I still liked it. They were big and good as I think they were year sevens because they were so big.I still had a lot fun.I got four tries. They bet by so much I didn't care that we lost I still had so much fun.

After the game we got to eat a lot of food before we ate they said a kara kea then we ate the food it was so yum.I ate muffins,pies like mince and egg and bacon,sausage's and cake I was so full I could of vomited then we headed back to school.

LTP👌

I know what your thinking What is ltp well it stands for Learning Through Play.There is 4 different places to choose from  makey makey, junkie monkey,planet contraction  and card nation.I did planet contraction I made a kinda axe knife thing it was cool.We did it for about an hour.The next day I did the same thing.Next week i'm going to do makey makey.

graffiti

This week we were learning about graffiti I think it is when you draw or spray paint on a wall or surface.If it is grafiti if you draw on someone else's property But if you have permission it is okay. I think it is pretty cool because it is a bunch of cool pictures and writing like this one write here.It looks very hard I definitely could not do anything like this one.I wish that I could do it.
